Hindi Text to Speech
हिंदी टेक्स्ट टू स्पीच
Hindi is the most widely spoken language in India, and the one most often written the way people actually talk — half a sentence in Devanagari, half in English, with no warning in between.
नमस्ते! आज आप कैसे हैं? Anginat आपकी आवाज़ को ग्यारह भारतीय भाषाओं में बदल देता है।
Hinglish is the real test
Most Hindi content online is code-mixed. "मैंने उसे call किया but वो busy था" is an ordinary sentence, and a system that handles Hindi and English separately will either mispronounce the English or read it with a jarring switch. Anginat reads the sentence as one sentence, in one voice.
How Hindi is handled
Devanagari read directly
Paste Hindi as it is written. There is no need to romanise it first, and no transliteration step where matras and conjuncts get mangled.
Numbers, dates and currency
Figures written in digits are spoken the way a Hindi speaker would say them, rather than digit by digit in English.
Voices for the context
Male and female voices in tones that suit narration, customer support or advertising, so a lesson and an IVR prompt do not sound the same.
What people use Hindi voices for
- Course and lecture narration for Hindi-medium students
- YouTube and Shorts voice-overs without a recording setup
- IVR and phone announcements that do not sound robotic
- Audio editions of Hindi articles and newsletters
Hindi text to speech, answered
- Is there a free Hindi text to speech without signing up?
- Yes. Anginat generates Hindi speech for anonymous visitors from its homepage — three previews of up to 300 characters each, with no account, no email address and no card. A free account raises that to 25,000 characters a month and adds downloads.
- Can it read Hindi and English mixed in one sentence?
- Yes. Code-mixed Hinglish is read in a single pass in one voice, without splitting the text or switching voices mid-sentence. This is how most conversational Hindi is actually written.
- Do I need to type Hindi in English letters?
- No. Devanagari is read directly. Romanised Hindi is not required and not recommended, since the Devanagari spelling carries pronunciation information that romanisation loses.
- Can I clone a voice that speaks Hindi?
- Yes. About ten seconds of reference audio is enough to have that voice read new Hindi text. Cloning is included on the free plan, and the reference clip is not stored after the request.
